The Human Behind the SEO

The world of search is always undergoing new changes.

One constant, however, is a continual push toward promoting and rewarding websites that use real, natural language — not lists of keywords that provide no value to a human reader.

Hi, I'm Emily

I've been creating SEO content since 2010. In that time I've worked with everyone from local agencies a few blocks from my house to internationally-recognized software companies considered to be on the leading edge of user experience and design. While the Google algorithm changes, and every client always has unique needs, the desire for real, humanized content remains constant.

Quality > Quantity

Yes, producing regular content is important for SEO. But quickly generating 20 generic listicles every month will have less of a valuable long-term impact than five super high-quality, well-researched guides.

I’m cool with privacy

You can target the right people in search without tracking them on your website. I produce my clients’ results through the use of publicly accessible Google search data that are not tied to a specific site visitor or session ID.

Async is A++

While I’m always happy to hop on a real-time call with my clients’ teams, I’m a pro at the asynchronous communication game. I work with folks in all different time zones, so I use tools like Slack and Loom to share regular updates.

Markdown is queen.

I write in Markdown, which is a way to format text. This means that you can choose to have your finished content delivered to you as a normal Google doc, a Markdown file, or with HTML formatting. Depending on your setup, a Markdown or HTML file can speed up the process of publishing to your CMS.
